Class Descriptions
(more or less, arranged by degree of difficulty)

Beginners
 No experience needed, a great class to learn or re-visit the basics. 

Gentle
 Relaxing, slow moving- this class is less about physical challenge and more about opening up and quieting the mind. 

All Levels Hatha
This is the most commonly practiced form of yoga.  Hatha means sun/moon in sanskrit and is practiced for purification and preparation for meditation. The difficulty of this class is modified for the level of students in attendance, and modifications are offered to make the practice more basic or more advanced. 

Vinyasa Flow
A form of hatha yoga, in this class you will flow from pose to pose from pretty much the whole class.  You'll sweat your butt off, then meditate.  Good stuff.

Power Flow
The name says it all here, this class is a yoga workout.  Strengthen, lengthen, and tone while calming the mind and purifying the body.

Yoga for Healing
This class is designed for all level students who are moving through difficult points in their lives.  A mixture of vinyasa flow and restorative poses will help to open places in the body where emotions are commonly held, and create space for restoration and healing.

Restorative
Restorative classes are meant to allow the practitioner to take some time to be still. We begin with a gentle warm up, and then each restorative pose is held for 3-10 minutes.  The use of blocks, bolsters, blankets, pillows, etc is encouraged to support the body so that it may soften and release into the pose- support creates release. I also like to incorporate relaxing music, and inspirational readings into the poses. 

Crazy Beautiful Indulgent

This is an all levels class designed to maximize appreciation for all of the crazy, beautiful, and indulgent moments that we have the chance to benefit from every single day, if we slow down and notice them.  Music, trivia tidbits, and sweet treats are tools that work in tandem with a vinyasa style class, strengthening the body, breath, and mind.
